باب شرقي هو الباب الروماني القديم اللي بيفتح على الشارع المستقيم — ومطعم الأورينتال قاعد عنده، على عتبة الحي الشرقي بكنائسه وأجراسه وحاراته الضيقة. الصالة مبنية على الطراز الدمشقي: أبلق أبيض وأسود، قناطر عالية، وضوء دافئ بيلمّع النحاس على الحيطان.Bab Sharqi is the old Roman gate that opens onto the Straight Street — and Oriental Restaurant sits right beside it, on the doorstep of the eastern quarter with its churches, bells and narrow lanes. The hall is built in the Damascene way: black-and-white ablaq, high arches, warm light glinting off the brass on the walls.
